Leaf Cutter Ants

Lifting almost 50 times their body weight

Eating a fast-growing fungus

Always making new fungus

Following the trail to the leaves

 

Cutting all the leaves

Using only smell

The leaves are chewed up to feed the fungus

Then another queen flies away to start another nest

Eating her wings for nutrients

Restarting the fungus in the new nest

 

Always working hard

Never stopping to think

That’s real dedication

Still cutting…cutting…cutting…cutting

The black jaguar stalks its prey

Juicy, luscious meat.  Yum, yum!

I love them

So much.  They are so

Small and furry, cuddly.  Bunnies live in burrows.

I want to play with a bunny someday.  Bunnies are furry and cute.

No, not cute.  Adorable.  Bunnies are so small and lovable and cuddly and I love them so so much.

Silently sneaking

Swallowing mice a lot

Slipping up and down trees

Lots of little critters to eat for lunch

Mice, monkeys, jaguars, too. Lots of animals for you to eat. Yum yummy!

Animals fear you when you come around, but you’re the best at eating than any one at all because you’re Boa!

 

The Moose

Strong bold

Quick and fast

Prancing along the mossy ground

You never hear them.  They look like trees. 

You could look at them for hours, but never know they aren’t trees.

Standing quiet but proud they are like shadows standing on a cloud with long strong necks.  They only eat algae. Moose

Sniff, sniff, find the scent, prepare to attack.

Gather the pack.  Over the river, though the boulders.  The scent is strong.

Circle around behind, don’t let it see you.  The wolverines attack the moose.  Go for the throat.  The kill is ours. 

 

Bear

Prey.  Blood is

In the air.  Smashing the

Brush, a rabbit!  Pounce, snap dead wolves howling.

They smell the blood.  Leave it to the wolves stalking the deer…wait…

Here it is, jump, go for the throat, sinking your claws into its flesh, thrashing its head, a good clean kill.
