A sunrise is beautiful. Sometimes you can see a rainbow on the horizon. If you're lucky the clouds will turn pink. My favorite part is seeing the shadows on the mountains. After the sun sets, the lights come out and light up the sky. I also love sunsets.

Favorite Coat by Emily H.
When I was little I had a coat that was dark blue. It was very warm. Riley had a similar coat, but hers was lighter than mine. My coat was a mother to me, warm and gentle, wrapping her arms around me. The coat was warm and loving in a way. I would wear it outside to play and also to and from school. It was not too tight or too loose; it fit perfectly. It was very comfortable and fit for a long time before I outgrew it. It got dirty a lot because of how much I wore it. It was my favorite coat.

Greek Mythological Character by Simon W.
I am a character in Greek mythology. Hercules and I invented wrestling. We did a lot of it. Every year on my birthday my mother told me to try to lift the boulder that covered my father, King Aegeus' boots and sword. After many years of practice I became very strong so I could lift the boulder. The Cretans were in the habit of taking Trojans to feed to the Minotaur, but I went to Crete instead. I killed the Minotaur. Can you guess who I am?

My Brother by Sophia L.
A person I greatly admire is my brother, Eliot. He plays tag and hide and go seek when I'm bored. He helps me with my homework if I need it. He helps me look up words in the dictionary. He is kind to me when I am tired. He is funny and makes me laugh when I am not in a good mood. I admire him because he plays with me and is helpful, kind, and funny.

My Teacher by Emily T.
A person I greatly admire is my teacher, Jes. She is good at teaching. For instance when we were learning about Egypt, she made a really fun game to help us learn about life then. She is good at helping you understand new ideas, especially in math. An example would be when we were learning how to find the perimeter of a shape and I didn't understand, she explained that it was just counting the measurement around the outside of a figure. She is also good at helping you fix mistakes, such as when you spell words incorrectly. Jes has the ability to teach me in such a way that it makes me want to be a teacher even more.

Yummy Tacos by Emily T.
My favorite Mexican dinner would be a taco. I like to put in lettuce, tomatoes, rice, a little chicken and salsa. I will only put in mild salsa because the other temperatures are too hot. I put all of these yummy ingredients in a soft shell because the hard ones hurt my mouth. The drink I prefer with tacos is grape juice, but I will settle for milk. Tacos are by far my favorite Mexican food.

Piano Lessons by Sophia L.
I enjoy playing the piano! Playing piano is hard, but fun. I like piano because I know I can play an instrument. Sometimes playing piano can be frustrating when I don't play the right notes. My favorite song to play is "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven because it is a hard song so it makes me happy when I play it right. When I play songs without getting mixed up with the notes I feel very happy. I hope to take piano lessons for many years to come so I become a very good piano player.
